Welgevonden Game Reserve spans over 38,000 hectares and is home to a wide variety of wildlife, including the Big Five.
Self-drive is not permitted; only trained lodge guides explore the reserve, ensuring guest safety and the protection of its pristine wilderness.
As part of the Waterberg Biosphere, Welgevonden maintains strong security measures, and thanks to effective anti-poaching efforts, it supports a healthy rhino population, many of which still have their horns.

We can arrange transport if needed. After safely parking your car under 24-hour security, one of our trained rangers will pick you up for a scenic one-hour game drive to the lodge. No self-drive is permitted within the reserve, ensuring both safety and the protection of its wildlife.
There are also two nearby airstrips suitable for light aircraft, with a scheduled charter flight to the main airstrip three times a week. On request, we can arrange additional flights, please reach out for more information.

Check in at the main gate is 12h30 – 13h00
